It’s time for another South American youngster to be added to the list of players who’ve been linked to Brighton recently.
According to reports from Colombia, the Seagulls are going for John Elmer Solis from Atletico Nacional.
On Twitter, ESPN journalist Julian Capera writes that Brighton will soon make official their offer for him.
The amount the Seagulls are about to put on the table isn’t revealed. It’s just said that they’d let Atletico Nacional keep 10% of the profit from a future sale, while the South American club want 20%.
It’s been a few days since the Colombian media started claiming that Solis was drawing interest from European clubs, and following early reports of Brighton’s interest, we now see that a bid may be about to come.
Despite being just 18, the midfielder already has 38 appearances for the club, with a few games in the Copa Libertadores, which would definitely help him to get a work permit for the Premier League.
We shall now wait and see whether Brighton’s bid will be good enough for a deal, as there are few days left to negotiate.
