On June 26th, 1908.nl reported Brighton & Hove Albion’s offer to sign Mats Wieffer is ‘several millions’ short of Feyenoord’s request.
It was also said the player is keen on joining the Seagulls and he’s waiting for them to agree a deal with the Dutch club.
Voetbal International now claim Brighton are keen on the midfielder and are ‘pushing’ to secure his services. They are ‘trying to tempt Feyenoord into a deal’ for the 24-year-old this summer.
It’s claimed Brighton’s proposal hasn’t convinced the Eredivisie side, who ‘expected more’ from them. Feyenoord are hopeful that the English club will return with a new offer to sign the player.
Last month, Feyenoord appointed Brian Priske as Arne Slot’s successor, and the Brighton target trained under the new manager yesterday.
That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, who claim Fabian Hürzeler’s side are in discussions with Feyenoord over signing the Dutchman this summer. AD provide no further details on the outcome of these talks.
Meanwhile, Priske insists that he isn’t worried about losing some players this summer.
“No, not afraid. Players who come and go; it is part of football, part of life. If players leave, it is up to us to get good replacements,” he said, as quoted by AD.
