Earlier this week, we saw Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister sharing some plans about his future.

Speaking to the Argentine media, the midfielder claimed that when leaving the Seagulls, his idea is to move to a new club in the Premier League.

It turns out that Mac Allister had also been linked to clubs from abroad, and they now see the quotes of the Brighton star as some kind of setback.

That’s the case of Atletico Madrid. Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo today writes that the Colchonero now have it ‘complicated’ to attract the player to La Liga.

It’s recalled that Diego Simeone’s side had been linked to Mac Allister in January, reportedly competing with Arsenal and Chelsea for his signing.

Now as the player makes it clear he wants to stay in the Premier League, it becomes hard to believe that it’s Atletico Madrid who would win the race to take him out of Brighton.

Mac Allister has a contract with the Seagulls running until 2025, but it seems he already knows he can soon be moving for bigger challenges.
