Back in April, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso publicly expressed his desire to be part of the Paraguay squad at the Olympics this summer.
Paraguay U23 manager Carlos Jara Saguier has been keen on including the 23-year-old as part of the squad for the Olympics later this month.
Versus claim the Paraguay U23 and the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol [APF] have held several discussions with Brighton to convince them to allow Enciso to represent his country in Paris.
The attacking midfielder seemed to have missed out on the squad before he ‘received permission’ from the Seagulls at the weekend.
This green light was received on Saturday afternoon [likely Paraguayan time] and it allows him to become the ‘last-minute major reinforcements’ for Carlos Jara Saguier.
It’s claimed the APF have already taken the necessary steps to include him in the final squad and he doesn’t have to occupy the restricted quota [a squad can have three players above the age of 23] because of his age.
Versus claim the South American will travel to Paris on Monday to be part of the Paraguay U23 squad and Enciso’s inclusion will force Gustavo Caballero to withdraw from the squad.
