Facundo Buonanotte arrived at Brighton & Hove Albion from Rosario Central in January 2023.

The attacking midfielder has been speaking to Sportscenter, where he credited his former manager, Carlos Tévez, with helping him secure a move to Brighton. His comments are relayed by Olé.

Buonanotte graduated from the Argentine club’s academy and made his first team debut in 2022, prior to Tévez’s arrival.

The former Manchester City striker was in charge at Rosario Central for a short spell between June and November 2022.

Buonanotte played 34 matches for Rosario Central, scoring four goals and registering two assists. He managed these from 23 games he played under Tévez’s orders, and this saw him attract interest from European clubs.

The Seagulls were successful in securing his services and offered him a deal until 2028.  The Argentina international has now hailed the impact his former manager had on his career, which led to the transfer to The Amex.

“All the coaches I had were important, because I learnt from all of them. But I always say that Carlos was a big part of giving me the chance at Central, because it was when he arrived that I had my best moment,” he said.

“He was the one who gave me the chance to play, to give me minutes. I always say that he was a big part for me to be here, because thanks to him I was able to show myself.”

The South American managed five goals and two assists from 50 appearances for the Premier League side.

Fabian Hürzeler left Buonanotte out of his plans and Brighton let him join Leicester City on a loan deal in the summer window. He’s scored four goals and registered two assists from 13 league games for the Foxes.
