With Sporting very close to losing Pedro Porro in the middle of the season, it seems the Lions already have a specific player to replace him. That’s Brighton & Hove Albion fullback Tariq Lamptey.
A couple of Portuguese outlets today report that with the Spaniard nearly gone to the Premier League, the Seagulls’ player becomes the number one option in these final days of the transfer windows.
Newspaper Record highlights that there are few options for that position in the market, and Lamptey stands out as the ‘favourite’ in Sporting’s list, especially because Brighton are willing to negotiate his transfer.
It’s not said how much the Seagulls would like to make with the 22-year-old’s departure, and that’s because the Lions’ intention is to sign him on a loan deal.
Sporting’s chase for Lamptey is also reported by O Jogo, who claim he’s a ‘possibility’ for the Lisbon side. There it’s said that the player is looking to play more regularly, and that’s probably the argument the Lions will use to convince Brighton of a loan deal.
The fullback has 20 appearances for the Seagulls this season, which looks like a decent number, but the truth is he’s mostly used at the end of games.
