Brighton & Hove Albion are in the mix to sign 1. FC Nürnberg star Can Uzun, according to multiple reports from Germany.
Operating as either an attacking midfielder or a striker, he’s managed 13 goals and three assists from 20 games for the second division German club this season. His form has seen scouts from across Europe line up to watch him.
That’s according to Bild, who name Brighton as one of the candidates looking at the 18-year-old.
Galatasaray were the first club to ask for information about the versatile player, and he’s also received interest from the Premier League. Brighton & Hove Albion were first to show up with interest, then Fulham arrived more recently.
Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have also looked at the Turkey U18 international. The report says Eintracht Frankfurt have the best chance to sign Uzun, who’s valued at €10m.
Eintracht’s Nathaniel Brown is currently on loan at Nürnberg, and he’s Uzun’s best friend. Bild say this may be a ‘small plus’ for the Bundesliga side in their pursuit of the youngster.
Over at Sky Deutschland, they state Brighton are one of the ‘interested parties’ and add that Eintracht Frankfurt currently have the best chance to acquire his signature.
Therefore, Roberto De Zerbi’s side must step up their efforts if they wish to bring him to The Amex in the summer.
