Brighton & Hove Albion have now entered the race to sign Leicester City defender Timothy Castagne in the summer window, according to a report from Italy.
The former Atalanta man has been linked with a return to Serie A after the Foxes’ dropped out of the Premier League. Juventus are one of his suitors and need to be wary about the Seagulls.
That’s at least what Tutto Juve are reporting and add that Brighton have identified the 27-year-old as a target in this window.
Operating mainly as a right-back and at times as a left-back, he managed two goals and four assists from 42 games last season. It’s said Roberto De Zerbi’s side ‘appreciate’ the Leicester player’s versatility.
Castagne’s deal lasts until 2025, and with regards to the Turin club, the outlet states they want the Belgium international but don’t intend to spend more than €10m to secure his services. The Seagulls may be in a position to offer more than this to Leicester.
It’s further claimed the Old Lady would face competition from the Premier League side to sign the fullback. That’s all the report has to say about Brighton.
