Brighton have already recruited Diego Coppola from Hellas Verona this summer and have reportedly tried to sign another player from Serie A.
The man in question is AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham, who spent the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan. The temporary stint has now ended and the Englishman is back at the Stadio Olimpico.
The striker’s future in the Italian capital is uncertain and ASRomaLive report Brighton have made contact for the striker through intermediaries.
Along with the Seagulls, Fiorentina, Villarreal, Sporting and Lille have also come forward and Besiktas are pushing for a deal.
It’s believed Zenit and Brighton have come closest to Abraham’s wage demands of €5m per season, with the Russian club being prepared to pay a €20m transfer fee. The Zenit move, though, surely has to be questionable.
Gianluca di Marzio reported late last night that Besiktas’ offer of €20m has been accepted by Roma and Abraham is now in discussions with the Turkish side about a permanent transfer.
A move is now close and it apears Brighton will have to look at alternative options.
