Brighton & Hove Albion have continued to maintain interest in Davide Frattesi after failing to strike a deal for the Sassuolo player in the winter market.
Roberto De Zerbi knows the midfielder well from his time at the Serie A side and is keen to reunite with him at The Amex next season.
That’s according to Voce Giallo Rossa, who state the Brighton manager is ‘pushing to bring’ the 23-year-old to the Premier League.
The Seagulls were mentioned after Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali confirmed the player is attracting interest from Italy and England.
“I hope not only him… He has requests in Italy, but also in the Premier League: he’s a player with different characteristics from many others,” he said.
TuttoMercatoWeb have also interviewed the Serie A side’s CEO and asked him about the interest generated by the Italy international. Apart from Brighton, Juventus are also credited with interest in the midfielder.
When asked if the Old Lady are in the front row to sign him, Carnevali explained: “At the moment we have not yet started, fortunately, to enter into transfer market negotiations.
“It is still early but we know very well that there’s interest from various clubs. Some time ago I was in England and there are some clubs after him.”
Earlier this month, Tutto Juve reported Brighton are ready to ‘burn the competition’ to sign the player. It was also stated De Zerbi’s side are ‘ready to spend’ €40m to secure his services in the summer.
