Brighton and Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard has revealed he once held talks with Arsenal but decided against joining the Gunners.
Trossard joined Brighton in the summer transfer window, with the Seagulls paying £18m to sign him from Genk.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a solid start to life in the Premier League, with two goals and one assist five games so far.
Last weekend saw him shining in the win over Norwich as he bagged one goal and set up the other in the 2-0 victory.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several pundits praising his style and some even going as far as to tip him for a move to a bigger club sooner rather than later should he keep it up.
It seems, though, Trossard once had the choice to join Arsenal, as well as Wolfsburg, but decided against moving to both clubs as it didn’t feel ‘right’ at the time but Brighton did.
“I was once in conversation with Arsenal,” he told Het Belang van Limburg.
“Now, we have also indicated that the move to Arsenal or Atlético might not have been the right one.
“Certainly, I weighed and weighed that (Wolfsburg) too. Wolfsburg is not a poor club, although financially everything was close together.
“But I had a better feeling with Brighton than with the German competition. Here you are in the Premier League, where you play top matches every week. “
