Barcelona and Spain star Pedri has hailed Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moisés Caicedo, admitting he is the player who has ‘surprised’ him at the World Cup.
Caicedo was a part of Ecuador’s squad for the tournament in Qatar, having established himself as a key player for his country in recent months.
That come about as a result of his increasingly impressive performances for Brighton, where he is also a key player and has shone this season and last.
Unfortunately, Ecuador were unable to make it out of the group stages this time around, finishing third behind the Netherlands and Senegal.
That did not stop Caicedo from making an impression, though, impressing in all three group games he played in and managed a goal in the 1-2 defeat to Senegal.
That strike was the latest milestone in a rapidly developing career for the Brighton man, who it seems has impressed another of Europe’s rising talents with his displays.
“The one I’ve seen and who has surprised me is the one from Ecuador: Moisés Caicedo,” he told Youtubers Javier and Erick Ruiz.
“He’s very good, he’s a top player and I liked him a lot. (Eric Garcia) said he (Moises Caicedo) is going to play very well.”
