Brighton and Hove Albion’s Valentin Barco is a potential option for PSV Eindhoven as they seek a replacement for Matteo Dams.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad and journalist Rik Elfrink, who both report that the Brighton defender is on the list for the Dutch club
Dame is set to complete a move to Saudi Arabia, with an agreement in place with Al-Ahli for the 20-year-old defender. He’s already on a flight to the country to complete the move.
The Dutch side will need a replacement for him and are searching for solutions. Barco is one of them and has been offered to the club according to ED. However, the newspaper makes it clear he is just one of numerous players offered each day.
Elfrink takes a similar stance, reporting that Barco is just one of many interesting names offered to the Dutch side. He is a player who is known to them but there is, reportedly, a lot of competition for the Brighton man.
That last part is a little surprising as Barco has been looking to get out of Sevilla, where he is currently on loan, for the best part of a month without any success.
The story from Spain has been that Brighton didn’t have another destination for him to go to, but Elfrink seems to think the defender has plenty of options on the table.
PSV Eindhoven could now be one of them too although it seems they are yet to step forward with any serious offer.
