According to a claim in the Turkish media, Brighton & Hove Albion are finally closing in on Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

The Premier League side have been linked with the left back throughout this summer transfer window following reports of an offer from the Seagulls. Kadıoğlu impressed during Euro 2024 which brought him to the attention of a number of English clubs.

Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported on the latest developments regarding Brighton’s pursuit for the 24-year-old and says the English side have made ‘significant progress’ with their attempts to sign the player.

There have been recent reports Brighton have already reached an agreement with Kadıoğlu over personal terms, and Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported earlier today that the player and his camp have been pushing for the move.

It was recently claimed Brighton €35m offer for the Turkey international, but since Manchester United’s reported interest in the player last week, Fenerbahce have been stalling and waiting for more.

Reports in Turkey today said Brighton want an answer from Fener this week on whether they will accept the bid, and now things look a little brighter.

Kadıoğlu is contracted to the Super club side until 2026.
