With the end of this season’s Copa Libertadores, several South American talents are now ready to make their transfers to Europe. That’s the case of Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City target Valentin Barco.

The Boca Juniors star has been heavily linked with a move out of the club, and TyC Sports now feature an update on his current situation.

It’s recalled that with the approaches from Manchester City and Brighton in the summer, the winger was already close to a departure from Boca Juniors.

What stopped a transfer back then was that he promised to stay until the end of the Libertadores. That finished on Saturday, and since he’s only protected by a US$10m release clause, he’s a big candidate to leave the club.

Brighton are said to be ‘the only club’ who got in touch with Boca Juniors with their rejected offers in the summer, but Manchester City and RB Leipzig are still alive in the race.

The Argentine club are basically just waiting to see who’ll come up to trigger the clause. Now since the amount is so low, we wouldn’t be surprised to see clubs trying to pay more to guarantee the signing.
