It’s been a while since we’ve heard about Brighton & Hove Albion’s interest in Stade de Reims’ Boulaye Dia, but it’s back with a bang on Friday evening.

The last time we saw anything on it was in mid-August, when La Provence had a report on Marseille looking at the forward, naming the Seagulls as competition for the Ligue 1 club.

It was made very clear that Dia wasn’t trying to force an exit, knowing full well he’d be playing some Europa League football at Reims.

That journey, however, came to an end on September 24th, when the French club were knocked out of the competition by MOL Vidi on penalties, meaning he’s now got to choose between Brighton and staying where he is.

This is because, according to Téléfoot Chaîne in France, Graham Potter’s side are ‘insisting’ for Dia, and talks are ‘underway’ between the two teams.

As things stand, the Seagulls have put forward a loan offer, and that’s all the detail we get.

We’ll have to see if more filters through in the coming hours or days, but that’s where we are in this one.
