Yesterday, we covered reports from the Turkish press that Brighton & Hove Albion have stepped up their pursuit to sign Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
The Turkey international has been on the Premier League side’s radar throughout this transfer window and they’ve reportedly tabled another offer for the player.
Yagiz Sabuncuoglu today reports on the latest developments regarding Brighton and Kadıoğlu. The very well connected Turkish journalist says the English side have met with Kadıoğlu’s agent as they look to get a deal done for the 24-year-old.
Again, it’s reported the Seagulls have offered Fenerbahce €35m, plus add-ons, to sign the left back this summer.
However, there have been reports today in Turkey that Fenerbahce are keen to keep hold of Kadıoğlu and are trying to tie the player down to a five-year contract.
Despite this he’s reported that he’s tempted with a move to England in this transfer window, with a number of Premier League clubs showing an interest.
The fresh renewal claims may be designed to build a negotiating position.
Kadıoğlu made 41 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring 3 goals. He’s contracted to the Yellow Canaries until June 2026.
