Brighton & Hove Albion are in the picture to sign Matias Antonini in the winter market, as per a claim from Italy.
The 24-year-old has been plying his trade for Serie C side Taranto since the summer and has excelled for them this season. Operating in the heart of the defence, he’s scored three goals and made an assist from 20 matches in all competitions.
His fine displays have caught Brighton’s attention. That’s at least what Alfredo Pedullà is stating and he claims the English club ‘like’ the player.
It’s said the Seagulls have ‘asked for information’ and there are important ‘scenarios’ for the defender to consider changing clubs in the winter market. It’s not made clear whether Brighton have contacted Taranto or Antonini’s camp.
Along with Roberto De Zerbi’s side, Emploi and Salernitana have carried out polls for the Taranto star. He is valued at €600,000 and this price would be a bargain for Brighton or any top division club in January.
Alfredo Pedullà ends the report by stating the market plots around the defender must be followed, suggesting there may be new developments around his future.
