There are multiple reports in the Turkish media that Brighton & Hove Albion have finally reached a full agreement to sign Fenerbahçe defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
The Turkey international has been linked with a move to the Premier League side in recent weeks but the English side were struggling to finalise the deal.
Ajanspor today report, as relayed by Abc Gazetesi, that Fenerbahce have accepted Brighton’s €35.2m offer for the left back. This would break the record for a player being purchased from the Turkish Super Lig, which is currently set at €30m.
It always looked like Brighton would have to break the Super Lig record to sign Kadıoğlu after weeks of transfer talks with the Istanbul side. Recent reports from the Turkish press said the player had already agreed personal terms with the Seagulls, but there were issues agreeing on the transfer fee.
Kadıoğlu himself has reportedly been keen on a move to the Premier League this summer and along with Brighton, Manchester Untied have also been credited with interest.
