Brighton and Hove Albion have been left feeling ‘cheated’ by Mohammed Kudus’ entourage, growing increasingly annoyed at the lack of movement on a deal for the player.
That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by MSN, who say the Seagulls have been ‘left a nasty aftertaste’ from their efforts to get the player.
Reports earlier this month had indicated that Kudus was on his way to Brighton, who had reached an agreement with Ajax over a transfer and were pushing ahead to get a deal over the line.
There’s been little progress on the potential deal since that point, though, with it unclear why that is the case given Brighton and Ajax were in agreement on a €40m deal.
Various reports have indicated that it may be Kudus holding things up, with it even claimed that he might have pulled the plug on the deal as he wants to join a bigger club than Brighton.
This has left Roberto de Zerbi’s side frustrated with the player and his representatives, according to VI, who cover the situation today and detail the growing unhappiness at the whole affair.
.It is mainly a guess about how and why, but it is plausible that Kudus has a larger club in mind and is waiting to see what may come his way,’ the newspaper reports.
‘Brighton felt cheated. An agreement between the interested clubs and Ajax is not so much the problem, but none of the interested clubs have been able to reach a deal with Kudus and its management so far.’
