Morten Frendrup has never been too far away from being linked with Premier League clubs.
The Genoa man has drawn interest from both Brentford and Liverpool and his stock continues to rise, as his performances at the Rossoblu have been quite impressive.
Staying in Italy is certainly an option for Frendrup but Brighton have now emerged as a keen candidate for the Denmark man.
TMW’s Marco Conterio has highlighted the situation of the 23-year-old, stating that AC Milan see him as an alternative to Youssouf Fofana.
At the same time, it is mentioned that Brighton were interested in Frendup last summer and have decided to ‘continue to monitor’ the midfielder. Brentford are said to be doing the same.
Brighton could be helped by the financial situation of Genoa, where 777 Partners are facing ownership trouble and there could be a need to sell players.
Last summer, Genoa wanted more than €18m to €20m and the likelihood is that in the future, they would want more than that.
Milan can prove to be a significant threat for English clubs as their scouts have watched Frendrup many times.
