If members of the Tunisian media are to be believed, then Brighton are about to sign a Tunisia international.
Despite missing out on the World Cup because of a knee ligament injury, Youssef Msakni, currently at Al Duhail in Qatar, is ‘very close’ to joining the Seagulls.
This is what Réalités Online were reporting over the weekend, claiming the 28-year-old, after six years with his current side, will ‘soon fly to London’ in order to complete his transfer to Chris Hughton’s side, currently 13th in the Premier League.
The outlet state Al Duhail are ready to let him go after his injury, since he has yet to make an appearance for them this season.
However, prior to his injury last year, the winger had scored 23 goals and picked up 14 assists in 20 league games for the Qatari club.
But it’s worth pointing out that another website, GlobalNet, believe Watford are also interested, suggesting a deal might not be as close as what Réalités Online are claiming.
We’ll have to keep an eye on this one in the coming days, as this is the first time we’ve seen this story.
