Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, simply known as Simy, is on the radar of Brighton & Hove Albion for the summer transfer window.

Having joined Crotone in 2016, the 29-year-old has excelled for the Italian side in the last three seasons.

Crotone, who were promoted to Serie A during the 2020/21 season, have been relegated to the second division after finishing 19th in the table.

Simy scored 20 goals during the 2019/20 season, to help his side return to the top flight, and he again scored 20 goals in the recently concluded campaign. His goalscoring record in Serie A has not gone unnoticed.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Crotone plan to sell the Nigeria international and Junior Messias, and use the funds to build a strong squad to ‘return immediately’ to Serie A.

Simy’s agent Chinedu Amadi is working with an international agency to help his client find a new club, and he has ‘received several’ enquiries in recent weeks, including one from the Seagulls.

It’s claimed Brighton ‘came forward’ to ‘asked for information’ about Simy, who is valued around €6-7m. Apart from Graham Potter’s side, Salernitana, Saint-Etienne and Real Netis are also named as suitors in TMW’s report.
