Three months ago, we covered claims from Germany which stated AFC Bournemouth have FC Lugano’s Albian Hajdari on their target list. They aren’t the only Premier League side as Brighton & Hove Albion are also in the picture to sign him.
That’s according to Bild, and they mention both Brighton and Bournemouth when covering Werder Bremen interest in the centre-back.
On Wednesday, Deich Stube reported Werder Bremen have made advances to sign Leeds United’s Maximilian Wöber.
Bild back that up and add that the Bundesliga side are looking for another centre-back and their focus is on Hajdari. He joined the Swiss club initially on loan from Juventus in 2022 and they brought him a year later.
The Swiss defender played 40 games last season and last October, Lugano rewarded him with a new contract until 2028. Transfermarkt currently value him at €12m, but Bild state he has a €5m release clause.
This could make it interesting for Werder Bremen, but the ‘problem’ is competition from Brighton and Bournemouth. The report claims the Premier League duo are interested in the 22-year-old, who can also operate as a left-back and a defensive midfielder.
Marseille are also in the mix.
Hajdari’s age, profile, potential and clause could make him a bargain signing for Brighton or Bournemouth.
