Alexis Mac Allister is an Argentine midfielder who represents Buenos Aires based club Argentinos Juniors.
El Sol claims the 20-year-old has been attracting interest from Boca Juniors.
Despite the interest from the South American giants, it’s explained his future could be in Europe and in particular in England as Brighton & Hove Albion are making efforts.
Even though he was a priority target for Boca Juniros, the $10m (€8.7m) asking price set by Argentinos Juniors president Cristian Malaspina seemed to be too much for them.
In the report, it’s mentioned that Chris Hughton’s side have already tabled an offer in order to bring him to the club.
El Sol mentions that Mac Allister has a ‘foot and a half’ in the Premier League, meaning the deal for the player is expected to be completed soon.
Another Argentine outlet El Dia also claims the midfielder is ‘very close to becoming’ a player of the English club after they decided to trigger his release clause of $10m.
During the 2017/18 season, the South American scored two goals and registered six assists in 25 Primera Division appearances.
