On Wednesday, De Telegraaf reported Brighton & Hove Albion will make an improved offer to sign Olivier Boscagli, after PSV Eindhoven rejected their initial bid of €10m. It was also stated the centre-back is hoping for the Dutch club to cooperate with the Seagulls.
The Frenchman has less than a year left on his deal and hasn’t entertained renewal offers so far.
Eindhovens Dagblad state Brighton ‘absolutely want’ to sign Boscagli before the window closes on Friday.
The Premier League side thought of taking advantage of his contract situation, to secure his services on a reasonable deal. They want to make an improved offer and negotiate with the Dutch club.
PSV no longer want to hold talks with Fabian Hürzeler’s side and have made this clear to them. Their leaders have informed Brighton that it’s not possible for them to sign the 26-year-old.
Sources close to the Dutch club have told ED that ‘the gate is locked’ for Boscagli to leave.
Brighton are keen on acquiring the former OGC Nice man’s signature. Therefore, the report says it’s not ruled out that the English club ‘will make a new attempt on Thursday’.
PSV may change their stance if Brighton’s proposal is convincing.
