Brentford have become the latest club to be credited with interest in PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko.
The winger has four assists from six games this season, after managing nine goals and six assists from 39 games last season. His form over the last year or so has drawn attention from several clubs, including the Bees.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to Twitter to state Brentford’s interest to sign the 20-year-old is ‘real’.
He claims Thomas Frank’s side are expected to try to launch a last-minute attempt by tabling an offer of around €25m plus €5m in bonuses in the ‘next 48 hours’.
On Monday, Tavolieri stated the Eredivisie side will need at least €30m plus bonuses to let go of the Belgium international, when explaining Everton and Crystal Palace are also in the mix to sign him.
This indicates Brentford’s bid of €30m including bonuses could be rejected by PSV, who are focused on their Champions League play-off against Rangers on Wednesday, after the first leg at Ibrox ended in a 2-2 draw.
Frank’s side may find it difficult to take Bakayoko away from PSV if the Dutch club make it to the Champions League group stage.
