Brentford didn’t complete a transfer for Antonio Nusa in the winter market despite agreeing a deal with Club Brugge. The Bees wanted to be sure after concerns over the player’s medical.

Two days ago, Het Nieuwsblad stated Brentford have held ‘intensive consolations’ with the medical staff of both Club Brugge and the Norway national team. It was also said Thomas Frank’s side haven’t yet made a final decision.

Het Laatste Nieuws state Brentford are still concerned about the 18-year-old’s knee.

At the same time, the report also states the Premier League side’s concerns ‘are said to be unfounded’.

That’s because the Norway international’s growth injury does ‘little harm’ to his future and this was found out after further medical research in his home country. This is at least what the Jupiler Pro League side believe.

Club Brugge’s agreement with Brentford for €37m deal is ‘still standing’ and it remains to be seen whether the latter will change their opinion after the new medical research.

The latest results from Norway should bring relief to Nusa, who had ‘mental problems’ after his move to Brentford collapsed. Therefore, he didn’t feature for Club Brugge in the last three games and the intention is for him to return against Eupen this weekend.

Today’s Gazet van Antwerpen also states the new scans, conducted in ‘collaboration’ with the Norwegian doctors, have shown that he can play without any concerns today and in the future. The newspaper adds Nusa is ‘medically fit’ and his career is ‘not in danger’.

Thomas Frank’s side have a decision to make on whether or not to go ahead with the deal in the summer.
