Brentford are the latest Premier League side to be linked to Real Betis winger Assane Diao.
The Bees’ interest is today revealed by Mundo Deportivo, who report the English club want to offer something close to his €30m release clause.
The problem is that Brentford’s offer may still not be enough, as Betis reportedly already told the market that only the full amount will force them to let him go.
As Diao watches the situation, he may benefit from it. In his contract, there’s a clause saying that in case the La Liga side turn down offers worth over €15m, he gets a pay rise.
Mundo Deportivo writes that Betis are aware of Brentford’s interest, as well as of the chase from other English clubs, even though no official offers have arrived yet.
In the past few months, we’ve also seen the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle all getting linked to Diao as well. The teenager has four goals in 18 appearances for Betis this season, which is his first in the main team.
