Signed from Troyes in 2019, Bryan Mbeumo has been with Brentford FC through all their important steps, and remains a very important for Thomas Frank.
That’s shown by the fact the Cameroon international has featured in every starting lineup in the Premier League this season, taking his number of appearances to 15, during which he has scored three goals and assisted another.
The France born winger was rewarded last January with a new contract at Brentford, keeping him at the club until 2026, with a club option of an extra year.
Whether he gets that far in his deal remains to be seen, though, because his performances have caught the eye of bigger clubs, like Napoli.
This comes courtesy of Corriere dello Sport, who describe the Brentford star as ‘one of the most interesting faces of Cameroon’ at the World Cup, having ‘fulfilled a childhood dream’ in the process.
He has ‘made himself appreciated by Napoli because of his left foot and his precision on set pieces’, which could lead them to potentially make a move in the future.
This is something Brentford protected themselves from by renewing Mbeumo’s contract, but we all know that the lure of European football, which someone like Napoli will provide, could entice the Cameroon international.
