Brentford fullback Mads Roerslev received some great news today, as despite not being initially called up for Denmark’s upcoming games, he ended up joining their list.
That’s today reported by Bold, who explains that manager Kasper Hjulmand was pushed into make a new substitution in the squad.
As Benfica’s Alexander Bah was forced to return home with an injury, they’re now bringing the Brentford player in his place.
Despite having played for many of Denmark’s youth levels, Roerslev had never been called up by the first team before, so that’s a great chance for his international debut.
They’ll be playing a couple of friendlies against Switzerland and the Faroe Islands, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Hjulmand makes a little rotation and gives him an opportunity.
Last week, the coach had already claimed that the Brentford player would get called in case there was any need, and that now sounds like a prediction from him.
Roerslev has 29 appearances for the Bees this season, with his market value only going up, and it seems about time that he gets to play for his country.
