Brentford are keen on signing FC Copenhagen’s William Clem, according to Friday’s Ekstra Bladet.
The 19-year-old came up through the ranks of the Danish club’s youth system and made his way into their first team last season, where he made 26 appearances.
His impressive performances have not only made the midfielder ‘one of the biggest talents’ of the Superliga but has also caught the attention of clubs abroad.
Only Brentford get a mention and it’s stated they have shown the ‘most concrete interest’ in the teenager.
At the start of this year, the Denmark U19 international signed a new deal until 2027. The report adds there are currently no negotiations between the Bees and Copenhagen, and the latter have also not sent a concrete offer so far.
Apart from Thomas Frank’s side, the newspaper states the player has caught the attention of unnamed clubs from France and Italy.
Despite drawing the attention of a few clubs across Europe, Clem’s agent Ahmad El-Ali has told Ekstra Bladet that a transfer is unlikely to take shape this summer.
“There’s a lot of interest in William. He’s young, plays a lot and delivers well. However, I don’t want to go into where the interest comes from,” El-Ali said.
“Right now, William is doing very well at Copenhagen. He plays a lot and is really happy under Nees [manager Jacob Neestrup], and the role he has in the team. He’s only 19 and is in exactly the right place.”
