Brentford are in a chase for Olympique Marseille full-back Renan Lodi, according to reports from France.
Foot Mercato writes that the Bees are ‘very interested’ in the 25-year-old, and want to get him signed in January.
It’s said Brentford are ‘ready to formulate’ an offer for a loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the spell.
The outlet, however, claims that Marseille are ‘not a seller’ and therefore that kind of offer ‘hardy excites’ the French club.
There are no details on how much money Brentford will be putting on the table for the purchase option, so we should get more details on that soon.
Lodi is not a stranger for Premier League fans, as he was loaned by Atletico Madrid to Nottingham Forest in the 2022/23 season. He made 32 appearances for the Tricky Trees, but that didn’t lead to a permanent move.
Marseille then spent €13m to get him signed last summer, and he’s a starter there, with 23 games played this season. That’s why Brentford should have a hard task to bring him to England.
