According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are closing in on Brentford forward Igor Thiago.
The 23-year-old only signed for the Premier League side last summer from Club Brugge, but his first season has been something of a disaster. An unfortunate battle with serious injuries mean the Brazilian only played 169 Premier League minutes.

The Norwegian was only installed as Black Eagles manager late into the January window and has yet to bring in his own players. Solskjær is keen to strengthen his attack ahead of the next campaign, especially with Ciro Immobile expected to leave.
It’s claimed the Black Eagles have reached an ‘agreement in principle’ with Igor Thiago after convincing him to make a new start in Istanbul, and now they need to reach an agreement with Brentford.
Talks are expected to continue between the two clubs and there’s confidence his transfer can we made official in the near future. Following his struggles last season it’s hoped a move to the Super Lig will help get his career back on track.
There’s no indication whether Besiktas are looking for a loan or permanent deal.
Igor Thiago made just seven appearances in all competitions last season, scoring no goals. He’s contracted to Brentford until June 2029.
