The Italian media today returns with rumours on the future of Brentford goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.
This time, it’s Monza who are pointed out as a potential destination for the 29-year-old, in a story from newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport. It’s said the Serie A side are looking for a goalkeeper this summer, and depending on how their chase for their first options goes, then Strakosha could be considered.
Gazzetta claims that with him not having many chances at Brentford, and his contract with the Bees expiring next year, the chances of a transfer ‘opens up’.
The newspaper claims that Monza could spend between €3m and €4m to get him signed. He’s labelled as ‘experienced and young’, turning out to be a good option on the list.
Brentford signed Strakosha for free from Lazio in the summer of 2022. Since then, however, he’s only had six appearances for the Bees, and that’s what pushes him towards the exit door this summer.
He managed to be a starter in three Euro 2024 games, though, and that may be enough to draw interest from other clubs.
