Valencia are ‘close’ to completing a deal for Brentford forward Sergi Canós and are finalising the last details of the move.
That’s according to Plaza Deportiva, who say Valencia sporting director Miguel Ángel Corona, who wanted to sign the Spaniard in the January transfer window, is ‘closing the last details’ of the potential move.
According to their information Canós will join Valencia on a permanent basis from Brentford and Corona has already proposed ‘a long contract’ to the player so he doesn’t have to lower or lose out in terms of wages.
The 26-year-old ‘agrees’ with the conditions that have been proposed to him and Valencia are now working to close an agreement with Brentford for him.
There is a belief that a deal can be struck ‘in the next few hours’ and that Canós can become Valencia’s second signing of the summer after Cenk Özkacar.
The Spanish side have move for Canós as they look to add reinforcements to their wings following the departures of Justin Kluivert, Samu Lino and Toni Lato.
The Brentford man’s versatility can help to cover that and the La Liga side are keen to get a deal for him over the line as soon as possible.
