Brentford’s Sergi Canós has been left out of their pre-season tour of America as he tries to secure a move to Valencia.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say they have spoken to the Spaniard’s entourage, who told them he will not participate in Brentford’s three pre-season friendlies in the US as he is ‘out of the team’s dynamic’.
In other words, the midfielder is not considered a part of the squad moving forwards and he is hoping that this will help unlock his move to Valencia.
He’s been pushing for that to happen for weeks as it is his dream move but the Spanish side don’t want to pay a fee and that’s not to Brentford’s liking.
The two sides have been trying to work out a solution that suits them both and ‘the waiting game continues’ on that front.
Canós, for his part, is ‘doing everything in his power’ to get out of Brentford and play for Valencia next season.
He’s had an agreement in place with Valencia for weeks but all that’s missing is the green light from Brentford. The big problem is Anderlecht, who are willing to make a stronger bid for the player.
Canós isn’t interested, though, and is waiting for the deal with Valencia to be agreed while the rest of the Brentford squad is in the USA without him.
