Brentford forward Kevin Schade has insisted he isn’t paying attention to transfer rumours, even if he wants to play ‘for a top club’ at some point.
Sky Germany have an interview with the forward today in which he is asked about his career aspirations and potential transfers in future.
Schade is enjoying a solid season for Brentford in the Premier League, with three goals in his last two games, including a double against Manchester United, taking him to 10 goals in the league this season before this weekend’s fixtures.
He’s largely had to sit on the outside looking in as the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoan Wissa have shone and racked up the goals between them this season.
That’s not stopped interest in him, though, with reports over the last few months suggesting that Napoli are interested in him.
They’re expected to have another busy summer of building for Antonio Conte and were credited with an interest late in the January transfer window that, ultimately, didn’t translate into serious transfer interest.
The Brentford man is aware of the transfer rumours but isn’t paying attention to it, despite a desire to play at the top level of the game at some point in his career.
“It’s not a problem for me. In the end, it’s an honour when there are rumours about other clubs,” he said.
“I really enjoy playing in England – it’s the best league in the world. But the Bundesliga remains interesting to me, of course.
“I’m open to anything. At some point, I want to play for a top club that regularly plays internationally – whether in Germany, England, or elsewhere, that’s secondary.”
