Greek website Sdna.Gr claim Brentford are interested in signing AEK’s goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas as a potential replacement for David Raya.

Thomas Frank’s side are currently in good form and are chasing automatic promotion to the Premier League. They are five points behind 2nd placed West Brom with four games remaining and have won their last six games, conceding just one goal during this run.

It’s reported that Barkas has been proposed to the London side, as they are preparing to sell their first-choice goalkeeper Raya.

Any move for Barkas could depend on Brentford’s promotion bid, and the Greek goalkeeper has also been linked with moves to the likes of Celtic and Leeds United in recent weeks.

The 26 year old has been one of the most consistent performers at AEK this season, making 31 appearances in all competitions, keeping 15 clean sheets. His contract with the Athens side will expire at the end of June 2022.
