PSV Eindhoven ‘must be worried’ that Brentford will return for Joey Veerman in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Soccer News, who say it seems likely that Brentford will return for Veerman after the injury to Antoni Milambo.
Milambo suffered a ‘serious injury’ this week while on international duty with the Netherlands U21s. He was left screaming in pain on the pitch, with Brentford later confirming a long-term injury cruciate ligament injury.
That’s left Keith Andrews without a summer signing and a hole in their squad to be filled. That is something they may look to resolve in January. And in the Netherlands, they believe another move for Veerman may be on the cards.
A report this week made it clear that Brentford had tried to sign him late in the summer transfer window. That was rejected by PSV, who had set a deadline to sell the midfielder and thus turned down a €30m offer. That same report stated that it was likely Brentford would return at some point.
The feeling is that could now happen. The injury to Milambo opening the door, and creating a need to sign a new midfielder.
