Brentford, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers are all interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Álex Berenguer, according to the latest reports from Spain.
It’s AS who, today, comments on the player’s situation at the La Liga side, claiming the club are having difficulties to get his contract renewed.
His contract with Bilbao expires at the end of the season, and since he hasn’t accepted any of their offers, there’s a real chance he could become a free agent in the summer.
That’s why Brentford, Crystal Palace and Wolves have now ‘taken notice’ of the situation, and, given his qualities, they’re analysing the possibility of making a move.
Athletic Bilbao already improved their initial offer, but since Berenguer didn’t take it, they’re now starting to look at other options in the market.
The winger has seven goals and three assists in 31 appearances this season, and is praised by AS for his big effort when doing defensive duties as well.
With Brentford, Crystal Palace and Wolves possibly giving him a chance to move to the Premier League, that probably puts Bilbao in a tougher situation to get the renewal done.
