Having seen Neal Maupay come and go while also trying to hold onto Saïd Benrahma and Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford are looking to add another player from the French leagues.

His name is Adil Taoui, who currently plays for Toulouse, recently relegated back down to Ligue 2 after finishing bottom from the top tier last season.

Their first choice was Haissem Hassan, according to L’Equipe, but after he signed for Villarreal, the Championship side turned their attention to the 19-year-old.

It’s said the English side have ‘approached’ Toulouse recently ‘in order to work out the conditions of a transaction’.

As things stand, ‘the offer would be a loan with a view to buy of €2m’.

There’s no indication on whether that would be interesting to the Ligue 2 side, but we’ll keep an eye on things going forward.

Taoui has so far only made three appearances for Toulouse in his young career, suggesting this one, regardless of the type of deal, would be one for the future.
