Emmanuel Dennis ended his three-year spell at Nottingham Forest at the end of last season. The Premier League side released him when his contract expired, and he failed to find a new club for several months.
Steve Cooper was in charge at the City Ground when Nottingham Forest signed the player from Watford in August 2022.
Cooper managed over 100 matches for Nottingham Forest during his two-year spell at the City Ground. The Reds parted ways with him in December 2023, and he had a short spell with Leicester City in 2024.
Last September, the manager made a surprise move to Brøndby IF, subsequently he opened the door for Dennis to move to Denmark.
Earlier this month, the Danish press covered the Nigerian having a trial with the Danish club. On Thursday, they confirmed they’ve signed the forward on a contract until 2028.
The 28-year-old’s former Nottingham Forest teammate, Brennan Johnson, has backed him to shine at Brøndby under Cooper. Johnson swapped Tottenham Hotspur for Crystal Palace in the winter market. He spoke to Viaplay about Dennis and Tipsbladet have relayed his comments.

Johnson, 24, spent four years at Nottingham Forest and left them for Spurs in September 2023. In his final season at the City Ground, he and Dennis played under Cooper.
“Dennis has a lot of quality and is physically so strong. He really has the confidence and belief in himself that Steve Cooper knows,” he said.
“I think Steve Cooper can get the best out of him. He really showed some good things at Nottingham Forest, and there were moments when he showed how good a player he can be.
“All in all, it probably didn’t go as planned [at Nottingham Forest], but before that he was at Watford in the Premier League and did really well, and he’s not that old. I hope they can get the best out of him, because he can give a lot to the team, and he can be a good player for them.”
