Palmeiras is now “on alert” after Leicester City showed concrete interest in Bruno Fuchs, even though the Brazilian club still plan to buy the defender on a permanent deal.

Recently we covered the Championship side sent a scout to watch the 26-year-old in the Copa Libertadores semifinal. But Bolavip now added that the English club’s presence at Allianz Parque did not go unnoticed.

Inside Palmeiras, the feeling is that European attention around Fuchs is growing, and the board know that a formal approach could arrive once the window gets closer.

Even so, the first step remains clear: they want to exercise the €3.5m (£3m) purchase clause agreed with Atlético Mineiro and keep the defender for 2026.

People around the club insist they are not working on a sale. Palmeiras see Fuchs as a key piece for the current project, especially with decisive matches still to come in domestic and continental competitions. Only a very high bid would force a serious discussion in the short term.

The idea in São Paulo is to secure his rights now and control the next move. A transfer to Europe could still become an option further down the line, but only on Palmeiras’ terms.

For the moment, Leicester City continue to monitor the situation from a distance, while Bruno Fuchs stays central to manager Abel Ferreira’s plans.
