Ajax star Antony has been urged to avoid a move to Manchester United this summer as he’ll have better offers before long.
That’s according to ESPN analyst Mario Been, who says the forward is best staying at Ajax for the time being.
Antony has been heavily linked with a move away from the Dutch giants this summer after establishing himself as one of the key players in the squad in recent years.
Ajax are not keen to sell him, particularly after losing several first team stars again this summer, but that has not stopped the rumours from building regardless.
At the moment they are centred on Manchester United, who are reportedly eyeing a move once more after first being linked earlier this summer.
Their problems up front have seen Antony named as a potential target once again, with the player one that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag knows well from his own time managing at the Amsterdam Arena.
They’d need a big sum to convince Ajax to sell but Been believes the player should turn it down regardless.
“Would Antony like to go to Manchester United? And can Antony take Manchester United to the next level?” Voetbal Primeur report him asking.
“If I were him, I wouldn’t go to Manchester United. He benefits from a strong squad.
“Who says to me, if he shows another six months in Holland how good he is, that an even better club won’t come?
“This is Valhalla for Antony; he can do what he wants. I think Manchester United is not suitable for Antony at the moment.”
