Arsenal winger Marquinhos is on his way out of the club, according to reports today.
French outlet Ouest-France writes that FC Nantes are currently finalising the winger’s transfer.
For now, there’s no information on whether Marquinhos would be leaving Arsenal on a loan or a permanent transfer, with the report only claiming the deal is ‘ready in sight’, with more information to come soon.
The winger joined the Gunners on a €3.5m deal last summer, and only had six appearances for the Gunners so far.
With just few minutes played for Mikel Arteta’s side, he was loaned to Norwich in January. Playing for the Canaries, he had one goal and one assist in 11 appearances.
The 20-year-old still has a lot of space for development, and some experience in France’s first division will certainly give him a chance for that.
He has a contract with Arsenal running until 2027, and that’s why it’s a lot more likely that the Gunners will loan him out and see how he does abroad, as that could even bring his market value up in case he succeeds there.
