West Ham United midfielder Guido Rodríguez is attracting increasing attention as talks around his future take shape.

Brazilian side Grêmio is pressing ahead with growing belief that a deal can be reached, even if key details are still being debated. That’s generating growing optimism in Brazil, but Serie A giants Juventus have just entered the picture.

Fresh moves from Brazil

Journalist Fábio Vargas reports that Grêmio now treat the 31-year-old as a priority target for 2026. The club are ready to offer a three-year contract, running until 2028, in an effort to move ahead of other interested sides.

Brazilian reports, however, do not fully agree on the structure of the deal. Journalist André Hernan reports that discussions currently focus on a loan move instead.

That contrast shows a negotiation still evolving. That’s why club insider Bruno Soares says Grêmio see real chances of progress, with complex talks now taking shape.

Another layer from Italy

At the same time, interest from Juventus adds an important layer to the story. Vargas claimed that the Italian club have made enquiries but are only considering a loan deal.

That difference in approach has become central to the discussion. Grêmio, by contrast, are pushing hardest and feel their willingness to commit to a permanent deal could prove decisive, especially if Juventus stick to a loan-only strategy.

Rodríguez’s position also plays into that dynamic. The journalist also said the midfielder wants to leave West Ham and is actively trying to secure his release in England.

With his contract expiring in the middle of the year, he is free to sign a pre-contract, which keeps pressure on the Premier League side and opens the door to different solutions.

For West Ham, little has changed. Limited minutes, a short contract and rising interest from South America keep Rodríguez’s future under discussion, with a decision now edging closer.
