Brazilian defender Miranda would have liked to play for Manchester United.

That was revealed by the centre-back himself in an interview he gave to ESPN Brasil this week.

During the Q&A, the first question was about which club he’d like to have featured for. Miranda sounded very sure about the answer.

“Manchester United,” the defender told ESPN Brasil.

Then one of the questions was about an offer he did not accept but was shaken by, and the Red Devils attempt was revealed.

“Manchester United, I think it was 2015.”

In the interview, Miranda also claimed he’d never have played for Real Madrid, revealed that the title he regrets not winning is the Champions League, and named Lionel Messi as the best attacker he’s ever faced, only surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo because of his Ballon d’Or wins.

Miranda was probably at his peak in 2015, so it’s no big surprise that Manchester United tried to sign him back then.

That window had Louis van Gaal in charge of the club, and it turns out the Red Devils didn’t even sign a centre-back. It was only in the following year that they bought Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
