Brazilian outlets are again teasing a Lucas Paquetá exit from West Ham. Multiple local sources claim Flamengo are preparing what would be the biggest signing in their history.
A club insider profile suggested Flamengo have set aside a significant budget to sign a “top” player for next season. They report that Paquetá is currently the main target and that the club see an opportunity because the midfielder’s contract with West Ham is no longer long-term.
Bolavip relayed that Paquetá is now cheaper than in previous windows and that the Hammers have “two remaining windows” to make a profit.
The claim suggests that West Ham may face pressure due to the timing of the deal. From January 2027, the player could sign a pre-contract elsewhere and leave for free. That detail has been used in Brazil to justify why a lower fee might now be enough.
What this means from a West Ham perspective
The Brazilian reports frame the situation as favourable for Flamengo. However, they also admit the club would still need West Ham’s approval and that a high valuation remains likely. The Hammers have not commented, and no negotiations have been reported in England.
For now, the claims remain on the Brazilian side only. Flamengo see the midfielder as a marquee addition for 2026, but West Ham’s stance will dictate whether any move is realistic. As in previous windows, the next steps depend on the club’s demands and Paquetá’s plans for the future.
