Flamengo are reportedly interested in signing Facundo Pellistri from Manchester United.
It’s Uruguayan journalist Sebas Giovanelli who, on Twitter, and with quite some excitement, today breaks the news about this chase.
Despite revealing Flamengo’s wish to land the Manchester United player, though, the reporter doesn’t seem to have any extra information on this chase.
Since being signed by the Red Devils in a €8.5m move from Peñarol back in 2020, Pellistri has struggled to have a sequence of chances to prove himself at the club.
In the winter window this year, he was loaned to Granada, where he had two goals and two assists in 15 appearances.
A new loan away from Manchester United would be absolutely no surprise to anybody, although a return to South America is always a complicated decision, as that’s sometimes a sign a player is giving up on European football.
And since he’s just 22, that’s definitely not the case here.
Since we’re talking about Flamengo, we’re very sure the Brazilian media will soon have some fresh updates on how this pursuit has been going.
